Columbia Business School and Goodwin Procter are pleased to co-host our invitation-only annual Real Estate Capital Markets Conference. Over the last several years, our half-day program has become a ‘go-to’ event among industry leaders in the real estate capital markets space and draws a sophisticated audience of real estate fund managers, REIT executives, real estate investors, and investment bankers.

We are thrilled to present Christina Romer as our keynote speaker. Ms. Romer served as the Chair of the Council of Economic Advisers under President Barack Obama (2009-2010) and is a leading scholar on economic crises and how to solve them. Ms. Romer will offer her perspective on what lies ahead for the economy and the challenging choices faced by policymakers.

Columbia Business School and Goodwin Procter LLP are pleased to once again co-host our invitation-only Annual Real Estate Capital Markets Conference. Over the last several years, our half-day program has become a ‘go-to’ event among industry leaders in the real estate capital markets space and draws a sophisticated audience of Real Estate Fund Managers, REIT Executives, Real Estate Investors, and Investment Bankers.

Our keynote presentation this year will be delivered by Mark M. Zandi, Chief Economist, Moody’s Analytics. Zandi is also a Professor of Economics at the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business. Zandi’s broad experience as an educator and economist will lend a unique perspective to our program. Mr. Zandi will be joined by an exceptional group of experts and thought leaders from across the real estate industry.

Our moderators will engage panelists and attendees in an interactive discussion centered on: the current state of the real estate capital markets, current macroeconomic trends in the real estate industry, the implications of ongoing political change at the federal, state and local levels, and the effects of continued financial turmoil on the real estate industry.

2014 Keynote Speaker Announced

Goodwin Procter and Columbia Business School are thrilled to announce that Mark Zandi, chief economist of Moody’s Analytics and cofounder of Economy.com, will be our keynote speaker for the 2014 conference. Mr. Zandi’s recent research has focused on mortgage finance reform and the determinants of mortgage foreclosure and personal bankruptcy. He has analyzed the economic impact of various tax and government spending policies and assessed the appropriate monetary policy response to bubbles in asset markets. We expect his insights to be of great interest to our audience.

This year, we are thrilled to welcome Erskine Bowles as our conference keynote speaker. Bowles, the former co-chair with Alan Simpson on President Obama’s National Commission on Fiscal Responsibility and Reform, is at the center of the national dialogue on what must be done to address America’s deficit crisis.  Bowles, president emeritus of the University of North Carolina and former chief of staff under President Clinton, currently serves on the Boards of Morgan Stanley and Cousins Properties.

Joining Mr. Bowles is an exceptional roster of industry thought leaders and presenters who will discuss, in panel format, macro economic trends, the current – and future – state of the real estate capital markets, the implications of ongoing political and financial turmoil on the industry, and the impact of converging global markets.
